I used to love KFC.
But today, I’m here to tell you why I lost my love to KFC in Taiwan.
I still remembered when it happened.
I was on my way to Tamsui for a weekend and I got a little hungry, so I pulled over to a KFC on the way to Tamsui.
I walk in and order some original recipe.
The guy says to me, “We don’t have original recipe...anymore!”
And I just thought maybe that, you know that store was sold out but that night, when I got back home, I looked up on the internet.
Found out Taiwan no longer was selling KFC original recipe fried chicken.
The chicken that KFC was founded on.
Many people don’t know, but the first KFC was not in Kentucky.
It was in Utah, and actually my great-grandmother knew.
The original founder (Pete Harmon) and so, kind of personal to me you know it’s not just any chicken, this is like we have you know kind of history here.
Egg tart and sweet potato.
Both I love them or we don’t have it, so I think it’s better here in Taiwan.
Two things I really like about KFC in Taiwan is that Colonel Sanders looks Asian.
And that they sell egg tarts, in Chinese it’s called dan ta.
They are the perfect size and even though they are very processed.
