編按：今天要來看一個7年前來台灣當交換生、到與台灣男生相戀、結婚的美國女生安娜，她如何看待「異國婚姻」。安娜表示，她覺得自己能當上台灣媳婦很開心，也想在情人節跟大家分享她認識台灣老公的一段小故事......

我從溫斯康辛州來，在美國的中間北部
I am from Wisconsin, USA. It’s located in the North-Central United States.

2009年我在美國開始準備來台灣當交換學生
In 2009, I began my preparation to become an exchange student.

我在某某女中
I was aent to a female only high school.

那邊我有很多朋友們，很多同學很歡迎我，還有一個老師也很歡迎我
I had met a teacher and a lot of classmates who welcome me with open arms.

所以我那一年的生活真的很好
So that one-year exchange experience was amazing.

上大學的時候
When I was about to go to college.

我覺得可能要回來台灣，再次試試看生活會怎麼樣
I feel like I should come back to Taiwan again for a longer stay.

2012年回來台灣，我在這裡住一個房子
In 2012, I come back to Taiwan to live in an apartment

然後在那個房子我認識我老公，我以前是他的房客
and that’s where I met my husband, he was my property manager.

他很可愛！他很驚訝我會講中文
He was very cute. He was very surprised when he realized I could speak Mandarin.

有幾天我沒有辦法打開（我房間）那個門
One time, I was having some trouble with my door.

我就打電話給他妹妹說我沒有辦法開門
I called his sister to tell her that I couldn’t open the door.

她說：「喔，沒關係！我哥哥在那附近，我打電話給他」
She said her brother was nearby, so she called him for help.

他真的馬上來，真的蠻快的！感覺他也有一點興奮要來幫我
He really came within minutes. I felt like he was pretty excited about helping me.

他超可愛！我就要開門，然後他要轉給我看，就摸到我的手，然後慢慢的轉
He is really cute, when he was fixing my door, he accidently grabbed my hand...

很有感覺啊！
I thought it was pretty special!

後來他會一直回來修理東西
After that, he would keep coming back to “fix stuff”.

所以我就從那個時候開始喜歡他，然後有一點感覺他也喜歡我
So I think I started to like him, and I believe he felt the same way as well.

跟我老公在一起的時候
When I am dating my husband,

一開始我不知道會怎麼樣，因為我沒有跟台灣男生交往的經驗
I have no idea where our relationship is going since I have never dated a Taiwanese guy before.

後來我很驚訝，我們的個性很合
But I was surprised how similar our personalities are to each other.

兩個都很保守，不會（一直想）出去玩，寧可花時間在一起
We are both conservative. We would rather spend time with each other than partying.

然後後來就發現生活在一起越來越好
Then we discover that we are both getting to know each other better and better.

因為我還蠻了解他的心，他也了解我的心
I think I understand him pretty well, he also understands me pretty well.

我覺得這個很重要
I think that is the most important part.

可以一起過很開心的生活，不要吵架
To live happily ever after without fighting.

我覺得兩個人在一起，不需要去看他皮膚是什麼顏色
I think the color of his or her skin does not matter in a relationship

還是他是從哪一個國家來、他的過去是怎麼樣
or where he is from, or who he dated in the past.

要看你們兩個人的個性是怎麼樣，能配合就好
A solid relationship depends on how well your personalities match.
